Newfoundland Puppies

The Newfoundland is a working breed that is often used for water rescues. The Newfie is a large, sweet, and protective dog. The origins of this dog are somewhat unknown but it is believed that they came with fishermen from Europe to the country of Newfoundland and are descendants of the Great Pyrenees, French Hound, or Husky.

This breed comes with a double coat that is fairly long and water-resistant. Newfies generally come in black but can be seen in white and black, bronze, blue and brown. This dogs beautiful coat requires daily grooming to keep is mat free and looking good. Shedding is minimal and the Newfie is known to not cause problems in humans with allergies.

The Newfoundland's large size necessitates equally large space for exercise and living. The Newfie can spend a great deal of time outdoors although the breed enjoys being with humans. The double coat does not allow this dog to spend great deals of time in the extreme heart or humidity.

This dog is intelligent and ready to learn making the Newfoundland easy to train for rescue, obedience, and water.

The sweet and loving Newfoundland is known to drool and does very well with children and other pets.
