Lhasa Apso Puppies
The Lhasa Apso hails from the sacred city of Lhasa, Tibet. This small breed was given the task of protecting the homes of the Dalai Lama and privileged people of Tibet. This dog made its voyage to the United States in the 1930's with C. Suydam Cutting after he received a pair as a gift from the Dalai Lama.
These dogs have straight, long, heavy dense coats. This breed classically comes in tan but can come in other colors.
The Lhasa Apso is quick to differentiate between friend and foe. The breed is distant with strangers but is fast to make friends.
While this dog flourishes with human contact the breed is a natural protector. Be warned the Lhasa Apso is not tolerant of small children but will get along with other dogs with human company.
In general this breed is obedient and simple to train but can have trouble following commands on the first attempt. The Lhasa Apso is a independent breed which can cause dominance and aggression issues although discipline can avert these problems.
