Irish Setter Puppies
This noble dog was first seen in Ireland in the 19th century and was used as a hunting dog, today the Irish Setter has become a beloved family dog.
Irish Setters have long coats that require a great deal of brushing for the prevention of tangles and mats. Coat colors range from deep red to mahogany.
This breed enjoys companionship with people and is protective around children but can be too active to be around very small children. Irish Setters are sensitive dogs yet playful. The breed does require a good deal of exercise making them an unwise choice for apartments.
Training of the Irish Setter can be slow but the dog seldom need review courses once they have learned a command. This breed does not react well to shouting or negative reinforcement.
Irish Setters do not enjoy confined spaces or to be left alone and if left in these manners can develop behavior problems. This dog can also become aggressive if not socialized well as a puppy.
