The German Wirehaired Pointer was developed in Germany in the early 1900's as a gun dog.
This breed has a weather resistant coat with a dense undercoat during the winter that is shed in the summer. The outercoat is harsh, wiry, and straight. This dog comes in liver or white. Brushing is needed twice a week as well as the occasional stripping.
The German Wirehaired Pointer is loyal, affectionate, and eager to please, making this dog a good family pet. This breed does best with older children and active families.
Daily exercise is needed for this dog. This breed is a good jogging companion and enjoys swimming.
