Briard Puppies
The Briard is one of the oldest working dogs believed to have originated in the French Province of Brie. This breed is also known to some as the Chien Berger de Brie or the Shepherd Dog of Brie. The breed's rich history has been dated as far back as the 8th century. It is thought that the dog is a cross between a beaceron, French herding dog, and a barber, French water dog.
The Briard has a double coat of course, wavy hair in a ray of colors from fawn to black. Regular grooming of this breed is required.
This dog is extremely faith and protective combine that with the breeds heightened hearing and they make wonderful guard dogs. Socialization is needed at an early age or the Briard could become aggressive.
Acitivity is a must for this breed. The Briard can become destructive if not interacted with. This breed makes a excellent companion for an older, active child.
The breed's intelligence makes them quick to train. The Briard trains well in tracking, police work, hunting, military work, as well as search and rescue. Training must begin at an early age.
