Anatolian Shepherd Dog Puppies

The Anatolian Shepherd is an ancient breed with roots in Turkey. The breed's purpose some 6,000 years ago was to protect flocks. Today the breed is still used to guard livestock.

This dog has a dense yet short coat that is see mostly in fawn but can come in brown, red, liver, and brindle.

This guard dog does best outdoor with something to protect but can do well in a large home with proper exercise. The Anatolian Shepherd is not a good choice for apartment dwellers or families with young children.

To prevent aggression it is important to socialize the Anatolian early in life. This breed will need obedience training but is slow to respond to commands. The dog will not need training to guard.
