Shorkies

Shorkies are a cross between a Purebred Shih tzu and a Purebred Yorkshire Terrier. Because of this the appearance of a Shorkie can vary. Shorkies are a small dog perfect for families or as a travel companion. They enjoy being around people and usually have boundless energy. They are intelligent and often appear independent. They will not hesitate to attack strangers and larger animals if it feels threatened.

Shorkies require exercise and regular brushing. The areas around the eyes need to be kept trimmed. Bathe as needed. Depending on the coat of the Shorkie it may require a sweater when outside during cold weather.

Shorkies are considered hypoallergenic and non-shedding.

Average Height – up to 14 inches

Average Lifespan – 12-15 years

It is especially important to find your Morkie puppies through a reputable breeder. Breed related health concerns include; bronchitis, tooth decay, low tolerance to anesthesia, kidney stones, liver disease and skin disorders.
