Rottweiler
Rottweilers are the oldest and most well known for its herding ability and stock protection. This breed was often used during WWI for police dogs.
This breed is always black with tan or mahogany markings above the eyes, cheeks, muzzle, chest and legs. It has a waterproof undercoat and a course top coat. Rotties are a low maintenance breed, but may shed seasonally.
Rottweilers may not be the best breed for people who have little experience with dogs. Obedience training is crucial, as is socialization. Rotties may potentially be dangerous to the irresponsible owner as abuse, neglect or lack of socialization may trigger the guarding behavior.
Overall, this breed is a loyal and loving pet.
