Corgi Puppies
Corgis are easy to train and quite intelligent. This breed makes great family pets, especially if this breed gets early obedience training and socialization with children. Otherwise, this type of dog may try to “herd” children by nipping at their heels. While Corgis are usually reserved with strangers, this breed makes very good watch dogs.
While friendly with other dogs, two males in the same house will probably fight for dominance. If socialized from an early age, Corgis get along well with other small animals, such as cats.
The undercoat of the Corgi is weatherproof, short and thick. The outer coat is coarser and longer. Corgis come in red, sable, fawn, or black and tan, and may or may not have white on their legs, chest, neck and muzzle. The tail is short and the ear tips are pointed.
Corgis need to be brushed weekly and enjoy a couple of brisk walks around the block each day.
Flemish weavers apparently brought corgis to the British Isles around 1,100. Known for their stamina, this type of dog was used to herd cattle.
