French Bulldogs
Though this breed can be stubborn, most French Bulldogs are eager to please and are very intelligent. These dogs do well in obedience training and do well in apartments or with elderly people. Frenchies like other dogs and enjoy being with gentle children. This breed tolerates strangers well, being very sweet tempered. This breed ultimately prefers the attention and affection of a single person.
French Bulldogs have a short coat which may be a solid color, brindle and white, brindle cream or fawn. This breed’s skin is soft and loose and forms wrinkles at the head & shoulders. Frenchies have a muscular, compact body with bat-like ears high on their head. Their very short nose is heavily wrinkled.
French Bulldogs need only a weekly brushing and combing. Two or three times each week their wrinkles should be cleaned and a walk around the block more than enough for them.
French Bulldogs originated in France during the 19th century when the English Bulldog was crossed with smaller breeds.
