Boxer Puppies
A well-bred Boxer is energetic, gentle and fun loving. This breed gets on well with adults and children, though will often be wary of strangers. Boxers normally get along with other dogs, some females tend towards aggression and some males may feel the need to fight for dominance. Early obedience training is recommended, and a consistent, determined owner is needed for successful training.
The Boxer’s coat is short, straight and shiny, and lies close to the body. Coat colors are fawn shades (between light tan and mahogany) or brindle (with heavy to light black striping). White markings are present on the legs, chest and muzzle.
Boxers need only occasional bathing and brushings, though this breed needs considerable daily exercise, including several brisk walks and playtime. High fences are a wise idea, given that Boxers are excellent jumpers.
Though originally bred in the 19th century for bull-baiting and dog-fighting, today’s well bred Boxers are much more placid. Many Boxers enjoy working lives in police roles and guard duty.
